The official governing document of the Filipino Association of New Brunswick, Greater Moncton Area.
We, Filipinos residing in the Province of New Brunswick, desiring to forge an association that shall embody our ideals and aspirations to better pursue common goals and concerns for optimum benefits for ourselves and our community, do hereby invoke divine blessing and guidance in the promulgation of this Constitution and By-Laws.
The name of the Association is the "Filipino Association of New Brunswick". It shall be a voluntary, non-profit Organization.
The objectives of the Association are:
Promote friendly relations among Filipinos and people of all nations;
Promote and preserve the Filipino cultural heritage;
Welcome and assist Filipino newcomers in New Brunswick and help them adjust to their new environment;
Keep members up-to-date on current developments in the Association, in the community and in our native country;
Facilitate communication among Filipino organizations existing in Canada and other countries;
Organize charitable activities and render reasonable assistance to members and to other Filipinos here and in the Philippines who are in need, and to do things conducive to the welfare of the members;
Encourage active participation in the affairs of Filipino, Canadian, and other communities like competitive sports and multicultural activities;
Encourage high ethical standards of professional and personal conduct, and;
Exercise all of the powers vested in the Association by the New Brunswick Companies Act.
